Description

Salabhanjika refers to the female dolls on either side of every step to the throne of King Vikramaditya. Each doll tells a story and tells King Vikramaditya that he can proceed to the next step only if he is able to match the expectations the story raises. The Salabhanjikas never tell a story of their own lives. The writer uses this image to suit her own purpose.

This collection has translations by many translators, including a couple of collaborative translators, who bring their own unique styles of transcreating Kuppili Padma's stories while retaining the quality of readability in the source texts. As editors, we have tried to respect and preserve the uniqueness of each individual and collaborative translators that becomes evident as you read the translations.
