Description

One day, Soorpanakha the sister of Ravanasura, the demon king of Lanka came and asked Sri Rama and Lakshmana to marry her. They refused. Lakshmana cut her nose and ears. She went to her brother Ravanasura and described the beauty of Sita. Ravanasura wanted to marry her. He sent a demon Mareecha in the guide of agolden deer. Sita saw the beautiful deer and asked Sri Rama to get it for her. Rama went to catch the deer. But it man away. When Sri Rama killed the deer it shouted imitating the voice of Sri Rama.

"Oh Lakshmana... O Sita... help... help...”

Lakshmana went to help his brother. Sita was alone in the hut. Ravanasura came as a Sanyasi and took her away to Lanka. He kept her in Asokavana under a tree.
